What Parents Need To Know About Cyberbullies!

Responding To CyberBullying:

    a. Stop – Block - Tell
    b. Make sure your child does not retaliate or reply to cyberbullying messages of any kind.
    c. Block any further contact from the cyberbully.
    d. Communicate with a parent or trusted adult.
    e. Documenting proof: Help your child to save evidence of cyberbullying. Use online tools or the ‘print screen’ button on your computer and do not delete text messages on a mobile phone.
    f. Install good monitoring software that will track and save evidence of all activities online.

 

 


 

Warning Signs:

    1. Alone at school most of the time
    2. Primary interaction is with younger students (indicative of peer problems)
    3. Avoids recess
    4. Avoidance of discussing what they are doing on the computer
    5. Detachment from use of emails, or apprehensive about receiving emails
    6. Mood changes after using the computer or electronic devices
    7. Frequent injuries or damage to clothing or property
    8. Frequently lost or missing belongings
    9. Academic issues
    10. Sudden discontinuance of computer or electronic devices
    11. Low self-esteem
    13. Sadness
    14. Depression
    15. Anxiety
    16. Aggression
    17. Not feeling well, headaches, upset stomach
    18. Not wanting to be involved in family or school issues
    19. Have unusual interest in self-harm or in suicide
