What in the world are they thinking? Researching dangerous drugs, and what our youth consider recreational, you have to wonder did someone whack these kids with a stupid stick. For example, Vodka Nose Shots - Vodka Soaked Tampons - Suppositories.
Wow, are the youth today that bored.
Vodka Nose Shots - Just the thought of it has so many unpleasant sensations. It is mind boggling that our youth need to experience these sensations in order to feel gratification.
Who does the research for these kids to find ways of bypassing the miracle of the body to function is a safe way to find the open areas to directly assault the open blood vessels to deliver a their drug of choice.
Inhaling Alcohol - You read that right. Pour alcohol over dry ice and breathe deeply through the nose and mouth. The vapors will enter your brain directly. Unfortunately, along with the alcohol vapors is included an undisclosed amount of carbon dioxide from the dry ice.
Vodka Soaked Tampons - Obviously, no one has told them that the effects of direct adsorption is the same as mainlining (actually they may know that), but they should have also researched the downside, which is destroying the vagina's delicate balance and cause bacterial and yeast infections, as well as crack and burn the vaginal tissue.
Anal Beer Bongs - No way. I can remember my dad looking at me, after I had done something as an older teen that he did not approve of and saying, "That is the epitome of stupidity"; he left me with that thought and went on his way. What is interesting is I still remember that day and everything that encompassed that moment. I think in comparison to what children are doing now he would have been speechless. Stop and think for a moment - you have just bypassed the stomach, blood filtering, the liver (the filter) and slammed your drug of choice directly into the body to absorb - that cannot be good.
CHWradio recently had a guest that touched on parents (I'm guilty) that were considered helicopter parents, always hovering over their child to make sure they are always okay. Considering the circumstance, I may do it all over again, but that is another story.
The CyberHood Watch partners, Dave & Bill, always talk about the permanency of the Internet, and what our kids post on their social network sites will be a permanent record. What they do now has future consequences. The same concept holds true for children and their recreation use of controlled substances, especially the means by which they administer them. What they do now, may have long-term consequences, which they never bargained for while looking for a momentary escape.
